What inspired us to start this brand?
Every summer, I found myself hunting for swimwear and resort wear that could take you from the pool to a beautiful terrace - and never quite finding it. My husband struggled to find linen that was perfectly shaped for men. We'd come home disappointed, season after season, with pieces that looked beautiful in the shop but didn't last. That frustration is what built this brand.
DEEJAH is for the woman who wants to feel chic and confident without feeling exposed - for the mum who loves looking elegant around the pool, covered in all the right ways. And for the man who deserves to look just as good beside her.
What does our brand name mean, and how did we choose it?
DEEJAH is short for Khadija, my name and naming the brand after myself was a deliberate act of ownership and pride. It reflects the deeply personal vision behind every piece. “Resorts & Swimwear” speaks to the world the brand inhabits: sun-soaked destination, poolside luxury, and the kind of travel that feels like an experience rather than just a holiday.
Where is the brand based, and does location influence the designs?
The brand is based in Glasgow, Scotland which might seem at odds with swimwear, but it’s precisely that contrast that sharpens the vision.
DEEJAH is designed for escapism. Every piece is imagined for the places we dream of: HVAR, Montenegro, Cannes. Scotland keeps the brand grounded and ambitious; the sun does the rest.
